I purchased a couple iCom IC-F121S radios for use with APRS.

These are commercial 8 channel programmable 2 meter transcievers. They are just a basic mobile radio so they're perfect for APRS and aren't very costly.

This radio requires an OPC-1122 type programming cable. See How to make your own.
